New website, new Passenger Zone, new trip planner

In November, we unveiled the beta version of the brand new website of the Société de transport de Laval. Well, today we say goodbye to our old website as our new site -- STLaval.ca -- officially goes live!

No more typing stl.laval.qc.ca in your browser search bar. Effectively immediately, this is the website where you will find all the information you need for public transiting in Laval and in the metropolitan area.

Better-organized site

Navigation menus have been completely revamped to render searching for information easier. Explore our various sections to find what you’re looking for regarding bus times, bus fares, points of sale, promotions, Opus cards (both standard and with photo ID), bus terminals and ticket offices in Laval, wheelchair accessible bus routes, paratransit services, and even job postings at the STL.

Also find everything pertaining to transit conditions conveniently grouped together: notices to users, detour charts, bus crowdedness estimator, and REM mobility info.

And since the STL avidly supports integrated mobility and active commuting, we have a section specifically dedicated to complementary alternatives to public transit in Laval, e.g. carpooling, bike paths, self-serve BIXI bike sharing, park-and-rides, and carsharing with Communauto.

Trip planner with built-in centralized map

We’ve enhanced our itinerary calculator with a centralized interactive map. This allows for address-based searches in the Greater Montréal Area, but also for searches by STL bus route or stop. It provides you with quick access to your commute times and itinerary on a map, including any detour information that might apply and estimates of how crowded the bus will be. You can choose from our regular bus service, as well as our shared taxi service, integrated school service,  and seniors residence service covering the Laval territory.

There are filters to help you refine your searches. E.g. you can specify you want only results for itineraries via accessible bus routes or for the map to show numerous options.

A brand new Passenger zone with tracking of your queries online

As with the “My STL” feature on our previous website, you’ll be able to continue to subscribe to email or text alerts in order to stay current with your favourite STL buses and bus stops.

In addition to saving your favourites for quick access to your bus times, you can also add your frequent locations to your favourites to speed up your trip planning when logged into your Passenger zone.

Major new feature: By creating an account, you can now track your queries online, whether they were submitted to our Customer Contact Centre by phone, via our online form, or via social media private messages. You can view your most recent queries and check their status right from your user page inbox.

So, what do you think of the new STL website?

We hope you like it, and we’ll continue making improvements. Feel free to send us any suggestions!
