COVID-19 : situation report

Last update:
May 12, 2022

As everyone knows, the STL is adapting to new orders and the changing situation. This update will be provided as needed.

We recommend that you visit our website regularly to keep yourself informed.

The mask is out, but not on the bus

Starting on May 14, wearing a mask will no longer be required on platforms or inside terminals. However, it will remain mandatory for people age 10 and over to wear a face mask in public transit: bus, shared taxis and paratransit vehicles.

Public transit safety

The STL would like to reassure riders that public transit is still safe.

As the bus doors open frequently, it allows fresh air to flow through the vehicles. To learn more about this matter, watch the informative news story on the Découverte program (in French). Watch it here

Our maintenance teams continue to clean our buses, facilities and terminuses every day, including handrails, grab bars and straps in the vehicles.

The best way to protect each other is to wear a properly fitted mask throughout the bus ride, fully covering your nose and mouth. We ask that everyone be civic-minded, be respectful of other riders and to comply with this order, which is crucial for limiting the risks of spreading the virus.

Wear your mask: It’s mandatory for people age 10 and over and strongly recommended for younger passengers.

If you have any symptoms, do not take the bus.

Use the bus crowdedness forecaster

If you have some flexibility in your travel time, be sure to use our bus crowdedness forecaster to find out how many people you should expect on the bus at the time of boarding and during your trip based on your departure time. The tool lets you see all the options and to choose the one that best suits you. It’s reassuring to know that we can opt for less busy times should we be worried about riding next to other passengers.
