Get on board the right way this school year
To get to school and travel by bus in Laval, you can count on the STL.
We’ll walk you through every step so you can ride with confidence.
Find my bus route
With more than 40 integrated school routes in its network, the STL takes students to many public and private secondary schools in Laval.
Want to know if your school and neighbourhood are served by one of these routes?
Click “Find my integrated school route”.
If your school is not served by an integrated school route, our regular bus network will get you where you need to go.
Save with a reduced fare
To access reduced fares for secondary school students, you must get a photo OPUS card at a ticket office starting August 1, or renew your card if you already have one.
Whether you use an integrated school route or a regular bus route, you need to pay your fare using passes called “fare products”, which you load onto your OPUS card. Know how to get or renew your card and gather all the required documents.
Find the right fare for me
Depending on how often you travel, one fare product may be more advantageous than another.
• More than 23 trips per month: choose a monthly pass.
• Occasional trips (23 trips or fewer): choose a 1-, 2- or 10-trip fare.
GOOD TO KNOW
Some passes are specific to certain schools within the Centre de services scolaire de Laval (CSS de Laval) and the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board (SWLSB).

Add a pass to my OPUS card
You have several options to buy passes and add them to your OPUS card:
First time on the bus? No worries!
We’ll guide you step by step through your trip.
Before your trip
Before your trip
- Find which stop to board at and which stop to get off, both for your outbound and return trips. Your boarding stop at the end of the day may be different from where you got off in the morning.
- To find your boarding stop, you can check your school and route map (integrated school routes only), or use an app such as Chrono, Transit, or Google Maps to plan your trip.
- Make sure you have your photo OPUS card with a valid fare, or the exact change to pay your fare. Debit cards are also accepted on board (conditions apply).
At the stop
At the stop
- Arrive at the bus stop at least 5 minutes early. When the bus arrives, check the route number displayed at the front to make sure it’s the right bus.
- Have your payment ready: photo OPUS card, cash or debit card.
- Make sure the driver can see that you want to board. You can wave, step closer to the stop, and look toward the bus. For your safety, never run after a bus if you miss it.
Boarding the bus
Boarding the bus
- Tap your OPUS card on the reader or insert your coins into the fare box.
- Be ready to show your OPUS card and photo if needed.
- Move toward the rear of the bus to keep the front area clear.
- There are no reserved seats. Seating is first come, first served.
Getting off the bus
Getting off the bus
- Press the stop button on the poles or gently pull the cord along the windows to let the driver know you want to get off at the next stop.
- Whenever possible, exit through the rear door rather than the front door.
- Push the handle or place your hand under the motion sensor to open the door.
- Wait for the bus to pass before crossing the street safely.
