Accessible Transit

At the STL, providing high-quality, universally accessible transit includes:

Accessible routes designed to meet the needs of our customers.

Routes that remain accessible throughout the trip, even in the event of detours or unexpected disruptions.

Accessible stops that allow customers to board and exit buses easily and safely, from start to finish.

Clear information about accessible routes, stops and vehicles.

Municipal infrastructure that supports the deployment of access ramps and allows customers to reach bus stops safely.

A majority of buses equipped with audio and visual stop announcement systems.

Priority seating for people with reduced mobility.

Low-floor buses that can be lowered to make boarding and alighting easier for seniors, people with functional limitations, and parents travelling with strollers.

 Accessible Network

The STL’s regular bus network includes several accessible routes. Except in special cases, these routes are served by vehicles equipped with a front access ramp, allowing passengers—particularly those using wheelchairs—to board the bus.

These routes may also be suitable for other passengers with functional limitations or those using mobility aids.

To use the regular network, customers must be able to board and exit the bus independently, with or without the assistance of an attendant.
