REM Travel Info
Since November 17, 2025, the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) has been serving Laval.
The REM is an automated light metro system in the Greater Montréal area. Currently, 23 stations are in service, connecting Brossard, Deux‑Montagnes, and Sainte‑Anne‑de‑Bellevue (Anse‑à‑l’Orme). In the future, an additional branch will be added to the network, serving Montréal‑Trudeau Airport.
Two REM stations are located in Laval:
- Sainte‑Dorothée REM Station (served by the STL)
- Île‑Bigras REM Station (not served by the STL)
Some STL routes also serve the Bois‑Franc and Du Ruisseau REM stations in Montréal.

Customers can take either Route 26 or Route 226. The route is the same for both starting from the intersection of Sylvie Street and Dandurand Street, all the way to the metro.
By balancing ridership between the two routes, trips are more comfortable.

Alternatives in place in the event of a REM disruption
During any REM service interruption, the STL provides a support service, both on weekdays and weekends.
If a planned REM interruption occurs (for example, due to maintenance work), the STL will provide shuttle bus service. Information will be shared on this page.
If one of the following situations occurs unexpectedly and lasts more than 20 minutes on the Deux‑Montagnes branch (Line A4), the STL will implement measures to help you travel between stations that remain in service:
- Complete shutdown of the REM network between Gare Centrale and Deux‑Montagnes
- Closure of the Mont‑Royal tunnel
- Service disruption between Bois‑Franc and Deux‑Montagnes
- Service disruption between Sainte‑Dorothée and Deux‑Montagnes
The following alternatives are offered by the STL depending on the situation. The diagrams below illustrate the service provided in each case. You will find detailed explanations further below.
