Attendant card

If you have functional limitations and wish to use the regular bus network, you can apply for an attendant card, which allows someone to accompany you free of charge.

This card is intended for customers who are not eligible for paratransit service.

It is not required for paratransit users, as their admission card already allows them to travel with an attendant at no extra cost on the regular network (bus, metro, train, REM). They simply need to pay their fare and present their admission card for their attendant.

How to get a card?

The attendant card is an OPUS card that allows a companion to travel free of charge on the regular network.

You will need to present the admission letter sent by the STL, along with a valid ID (health insurance card, driver’s licence, passport, asylum seeker document or birth certificate).

A fee of $6.00 (regular OPUS card) or $15.00 (OPUS card with photo) will apply, depending on your fare category, for the issuance of a new OPUS card.

If you already have an OPUS card with photo that gives you access to reduced fares, staff will issue your new OPUS card at no charge. Once your OPUS card is issued, no additional fees apply for your attendant’s trips.

Using your card

To use your card, you must follow these requirements:

  • Always have a valid fare for each of your trips

Please note that only one attendant is allowed to travel with you free of charge during your trips. This person must remain with you for the entire journey.
