Current fares for paratransit service

Read the price liste in effect starting July 1 2024

Payment methods depend on the territory in which you need to travel.

• Our paratransit service serves the following three fare zones: A, B and C — Laval is located in Zone B.
• Children age 11 and under always ride for free as long as they are accompanied by someone age 14 or older who is supervising the younger children and has a valid transit fare. For more information
• Laval residents age 65 and older can ride for free with the monthly HORIZON 65+ pass
• An OPUS card with photo ID is required to benefit from the reduced fare
• Ticket books for paratransit will no longer be available as of July 1, 2022. An alternative format will be used. You can continue to use tickets purchased before July 1 until they run out.
• STL fares are replaced by Bus fares. While TRAM 3 fares are replaced by All Modes fares. They are also available as a virtual pass and as an OPUS+ or OPUS+ entreprise membership.

Payment methods

Only valid on the paratransit network. Available at Metropolitan ticket offices and a lot of points of sale in single tickets (regular or reduced fare).

 

CASH FARE

You must pay the exact fare, as drivers do not give change.

 

CREDIT AND DEBIT CARD 
Payment by credit and debit card is allowed aboard all the STL paratransit vehicles ( minibuses and taxis). Passengers can pay their fare with a Visa card, a Mastercard or an Interac debit card. Please note that a single trip paid with cash, credit or debit card is cheaper than a paper ticket. 

*IMPORTANT: If contactless payment is unavailable, you must be able to insert your card and input your PIN number to complete the transaction and pay your fare. 
 

 

MONTHLY PASS ON AN OPUS CARD

Valid from the first day of the month to the last day of the month. Can be purchased at regular points of sale from the 20th of the previous month to the 15th of the current month or up to 3 months in advance from Metropolitan ticket offices. To ensure that all the systems and your driver have up-to-date information, your monthly pass must be loaded onto your OPUS card at least 3 days before the beginning of the month.

Important: Notify us of your OPUS card number (displayed on the back of your card) and inform us of any changes by calling 450-688-6520.

VIRTUAL PASS

If you use paratransit service only and travel regularly, the monthly virtual pass is the best option for you.

With a virtual pass, you can travel without ever having to present a ticket. To pay for your monthly virtual pass, simply send a cheque by mail to the STL. Once we receive your payment, we’ll notify the drivers that your fare has been paid for the month.

Make sure to mail your cheque in advance so we receive it before the first day of the month. Otherwise, you may be unable to use your pass from the beginning of the month.

If you wish, you can also send us a series of post-dated cheques to pay for multiple months. Ensure each cheque is dated the first day of each month. If you decide later to cancel one or more pending monthly payments, we will return your cheques to you.

Don't forget that the fares usually change every July 1st. Make sure to have the right amount of current fares in mind when you write your cheques.

How to register for paratransit virtual monthly pass

1. Prepare a cheque dated the first day of the month for which you wish to register.
2. Enter the amount corresponding to the current cost of the fare corresponding to your commuting needs. 
3. Make the cheque payable to Société de transport de Laval.
4. Indicate your name, file number and full address on the front of the cheque.
5. Mail the cheque in advance to:

In accordance with current regulations, you must show proof of payment each time you board. Failure to do so carries financial consequences. If you are unable to provide proof of payment, you may be fined as set out in ARTM Regulation CA-14 (PDF - French only).

PROTECT YOUR OPUS CARD

Protect your OPUS card and recover lost fares in the event of damage, loss or theft. Follow these steps:
